A perfect example of this is the Imperial City. This is utterly disappointing when you compare it to the completely stylized nature of Morrowind, or the more realistic looking nature of Skyrim.Дespite being one of the more populated and vast countries in Tamriel (according to lore), This game is barren and empty. The colors, while bright and somewhat nice looking in the overworld, look terrible indoors and in caves/dungeons. TES IV Oblivion is far from a nice looking game, with muddy textures, low detail models, and frankly disgusting characters. Some of the dialogue is excellent too, and a solid bunch of the characters in this game are incredibly interesting. The guild quests are also quite good, and despite having a pathetic main quest, some of the objectives in the story are really fun. The player homes are fun and cool, and the dungeons and caves are actually incredibly diverse compared to other titles. Sheogorath is absolutely represented at his best in this one. Another thing is that Shivering Isles has possibly my favorite questline in an RPG ever. It's theme is energetic, and majestic, and more 'fancy' when compared to Skyrim's and Morrowind's more gritty takes on it. This game competes with Morrowind has having my favorite take on the Elder Scrolls theme. First off, the music, like all Elder Scrolls games, is absolutely fire. Now, Oblivion is an undeniable classic which I used to love, and it does a lot of things right. This may be hard to hear, especially since the common opinion on this game is a positive one, But this is why.
